As for me, I think the school voucher programs have accomplished what they set out to do and that is to make people aware that if we don’t do anything about the problem in inner-city schools the government will get involved and will begin to regulate private school education. Freedom of choice also came when people chose to ignore the problem in the urban school districts instead of try to fix the problems as they arose.

ave allowed the school districts to place such a high standard on our children as far as education is concerned wouldn’t it only be fair to give them the best possible choices available so that they can meet the rising demand that is set before them each year. Some people would say yes. Some would say yes with a but on the end. Some would even say no. In this paper I plan to look at some of the issues that surround the school voucher programs and discuss the supporting and opposing view of each one.

Not everyone, though, believes that school vouchers are one the answers to our educational problems. Most opposers of the school voucher programs actually believe that this is just a wasteful plan that the government has allowed to appear racially and politically correct. As a matter of fact, they feel that people who have worked hard to provide their families with a nice living and have earned enough money to move their families into nicer areas should not have to foot the bill for someone who has not taken advantage of the same opportunities that they have. Those that are opposed to the voucher system feel that the privilege of a better education in earned through hard work. Another thing would be that vouchers would call for more government regulation of the school system. I have to admit, the school system has its faults but adding the government would only increase that. It is enough that the government meddles in public schools, but with vouchers that would only give them permission to add their two cents into private school education.
