Michael Jordan is not only a master on the court, but also a role model for others with his relentless strive to succeed in life. He has worked hard throughout his career to gain the respect of everyone. He is not only known as the greatest basketball player ever, but also a great businessman making multi-millions off endorsements and his own company, “Jordan“. He has constantly proved his critics wrong by doing what was thought as impossible not only once, but many times again. He is a man many elders and young people look up to in life.

Michael considers himself a native of North Carolina, but was actually born in the city of Brooklyn in New York. He grew up loving the sport of baseball, while basketball was then his second choice. After his father had a job opening in North Carolina, he then moved to a small city in that state called Wilmington. Being 12 years old and loving the sport baseball, it was difficult for him to play because most of the leagues were in predominantly white neighborhoods and not many African Americans went there to get a chance to play. But Jordan was the exception. He led his team to what he now thinks of as his greatest accomplishment ever, the Little League Championship,

During the summer, Jordan admitted that he may miss the game, but it was 99.9 percent that he would stay retired out of the league and he was just doing it for the conditioning purpose. He later confessed that he is returning to the league and will be selling his part of the franchise. He continued to practice with the team to get ready for his second comeback into the N.B.A.

Jordan later decided that baseball wasn’t for him and went back to the N.B.A. in 1995. He returned wearing the number 45 because he said the last time his father saw him play was in 23 and wasn’t going to wear that number again. Jordan had a shaky start averaging 26.6 points per game. His next season back he went to his old number of 23. He once again averaged over 30 points per game, and led his team to the championship again. They went on to win the next 2 titles the following 2 years and are now known as possibly the best basketball team in history.

Jordan retired in 1998 and decided he was done with playing basketball. He finally got to spend time with his children and wife. He also got to play another favorite sport of his, golf. After a while, he began to miss the game again. He continued to go on with his life and claiming not to want to return to the game.

In the following summer, Michael went through the worst experience of his life. His father was pulled over on the highway on his way home, and was killed in a robbery. After the death of his father, Michael then decided there was nothing more he could for the sport of basketball and retired. He decided to go back to the sport he played as a young child, which was baseball. Jordan was drafted into the minor leagues by the Barons.

Even though he was such a great player, he was criticized by people stating, “Michael will never win a championship if he doesn’t became a team player. The league-leading scorer can not win a national championship.” Every year the Bulls seemed to get put out of the playoffs by their rivals, the Detroit Pistons. It wasn’t until the nineteen ninety-one playoffs that they beat the pistons and went on to win their first championship, and Jordan was s
