Stealing Harvard
The movie I saw is called “Stealing Harvard”. It is a movie that should have gone straight to video and DVD, if that at all. I feel that I have wasted my money in going to the theatre to watch this movie. In this critique I will be discussing the importance of quality in a theatre, the storyline and my thoughts on this movie. There are a few key factors with the theatre that play a big part in how much a person enjoys a movie or play. These factors are: comfortability, the audience, and the sound system. First of all, the theatre I went to in Lompoc was a dumpy place. I haven’t been there in years and still, it seems as if nothing has changed, it hasn’t even been renovated. Although, the floors were sticky as usual, I can never get over the fact of how uncomfortable their seats are. Their arm rests are so small, if there had been more people in the theatre at the time I probably would have spent a good portion of the movie bumping elbows, fighting for the armrest. The audience plays a big role in how much you enjoy the movie. If the audience is quiet and doesn’t laugh in a comedy, it’s going to be boring, or awkward because you might be the only one who laughs. The worst
Being such a good-hearted guy, John has a hard time trying his best to not disappoint either woman, so he turns to his oddball friend Duff (Tom Green) for help. Duff is a landscaper who can be described as “not all there” or “the lights are on, but no one’s home”. With all of his foolish plans he only leads John to a life of crime, failing at each corner they turn. Without giving away all of the details, Duff comes up with $1,000 at the end of the movie kind of guy who works for his girlfriend’s father (Dennis Farina) at a medical supply store. John and Elaine (Leslie Mann), his fiancée, have made plans to get married. In doing this, they have set a goal of saving $30,000, which will be used for a down payment on their dream home, before getting married.
