College basketball is definitely more of a team game. It involves all players more than professional games, which are more of a one-on-one match up where other team members tend to stand around and observe. I personally like to see everyone participate rather than just a couple of players. College players are also a lot more energetic on the court than NBA players which makes them a lot more fun to watch. As far as the playoffs are concerned, March Madness is the most popular time of year for basketball. It is when sixty-four Division 1 college basketball teams go to the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) national tournament, and only one becomes the National Champion. The tournament itself now ranks among the major sports event of the year. There are huge upsets every year because it is a one-game elimination tournament and that’s what makes it so great. A great example is Duke, who was ranked number one all year long, and then was upset by Indiana in the Sweet 16. Also people love to fill out the brackets that are printed in the newspapers. They sometimes start pools of money and the person who comes to closest to getting the games right, wins the money.

Basketball is a fast and exciting sport. Playing it at any level is fun for me. However, for its entertainment value, I’ll choose college basketball over professional basketball any day.
