They burn books. In this thrilling, best selling novel, Bradbury conveys, quite poignantly, two very common themes in science fiction literature. These two science fiction themes are: the relationship between society and technology, and the extension of contemporary issues into this futuristic world; A futuristic world not all too dissimilar than the modern world of today. There are many ideas, many of which are scary, and controversial, brought up in this novel. All of these ideas are a twist, far fetched or not, on some contemporary issue going on during the time Bradbury wrote this novel. If not the latter, then an issue which Bradbury wanted to come about or was sure was going to come about. Anyway, it is quite exuberating and fantastic how Bradbury was so simply and splendidly able to merge these two common science fiction themes, as if they were one. Bradbury gives exact and very adequate answers to this question in this story. The main aspect of this relationship is the ever growing dependence on this technology.
