The most important Civil War battle was in the summer of 1863, in the small town of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. This battle would have occurred for three days from July first through July third. It began as a skirmish battle but involved one hundred sixty thousand Americans. Abraham changed the lives of many as he fought to preserve the Union and save the United States from disaster.
