Terence McKenna
Terence McKenna was a author, explorer, and a sharp and quick wited public speaker. Born in the late fortys during the baby boom, he was raised in a religiuoly dominated small town in Colorado where he got his thrills collecting bugs and launching rockets. He attended U.C. Berkeley for two years before setting off on a more than epic journy into the depths of the Amazon in search of the people, tribes, and plants where he would help to to turn the world as he, his brother, and counter-culture america knew it completly around. He found himself in the first ever mass killing feild, Long before the Holocuast, Cambodia, or The Atomic Age, the Rubber feilds of the Amazon from WW1 were the site of mass graves. Here the people of the jungle were forced to supply rubber for the war to the allies. If they failed to meet their outstanding quotas, the diferance was made up by removing an equal weight in their own flesh. As he aged he wrote and lectured widely about shamanism, ethnopharmacology, and psychoactive plants and chemicals but also the profecy of the world ending, a hope and plea for a better future, and a strong message to stand up for you rights and freedoms. His usualy fantasic and extravigant theories, lectures, and writings led some to dismiss him as a kook whos brain was fried from a lifetime of pysidelic use, some to follow him as a visionary and gospel, and others to enjoy him as an intellectual entertainer and near stand up comedian. His speaches flowed with near poetic style, wit striking at every chance, his words were rarley less than nine letters long and were sure expand the vocabulary of his listeners to more than double what they were before listening to him, reguardless of what they thought of his ideas. Terence graduated from Berkeley with a degree in ecology, resource conservation, and shamanism. Soon after he started with the books that made him famous, and raised him to a leader in the counterculture. Terence co-founded the non-profit organization Botanical Dimensions.
