Some of the first Anti-Semitism acts were boycotts of all Jewish shops. This was instigated by the S.A. Around the same time, Jewish people were to wear the Star of David so they could be identified without confusion.

In the beginning, Jewish and other races that didn’t fit in were shot. Historians calculate that well over 2 million individuals were involved in these mass shootings. The SS liquidated approximately 55,000 Jews in just ten weeks. The corpses of the dead victims would lie in the streets for days drawing attention. The German government knew that even though over 75 000 Jews had been exterminated this was not the solution to the Jewish problem. More had to be killed more quickly.

To organize the master Arian race the Jewish people were forced to live in sealed off areas. To ensure people wouldn’t escape high walls and barbed wire were assembled. Ghettos were overcrowded with staving, worn out inmates who were jailed in terrible living quarters. Hitler built the ghetto’s to group Jewish together without bothering the pure Germans. Once in the ghetto you were soon deported to the extermination camps where you were slaughtered.

Not all of the death camp prisoners died from gas or shootings. Many victims lost their lives through indirect extermination actions such as the method "destruction through work," bad treatment, under nourishment, epidemics, or even exhaustion during forced transportations.
