Research shows that we can all be traced back to share a common ancestry with one female who lived in Africa around 150,000 years ago. Modern science found that we all share mitochondrial DNA with this “genetic Eve.” Mitochondrial DNA is passed on by the female; therefore our genetic lines can be traced back to this Eve.
