The Social World

Humans are social creatures, and we would not be able to survive if we could not socialize with anyone. Since we can socialize, our horizons are broadened by a lot. Everyone has feelings and emotions. We have the ability to communicate amongst ourselves and we can also care and love for one another. We have relationships with each other which are based on cause and effect, and we have the ability to understand and obtain knowledge through our socialization. Our main goal in life is to try and make other people feel good. By doing that, we make ourselves feel good.

A lady named Dorothy Dinnerstein came up with the seven features of human cognition. The first one is motivated. The two types of motivation are intrinsic and extrinsic. Intrinsic means that we do something for an internal purpose, and extrinsic means that we do something for an external purpose. A good example of intrinsic motivation in the movie Pawn Broker is Jesus, because he is motivated to be the best he can be. In that same movie, the character of Rodriguez is a good example of extrinsic motivation, because he would do whatever it takes to get what he wants (money). a good time. My teachers used to call my parents and tell them that I needed to calm down. I think my friend and I were also the first kids to ever get kicked out of art class for the entire year, because I tried to put paint on his head after he threw a huge ball of clay at me. I had to take summer programs in school because my teachers thought it would be good for me. What those teachers didn’t know was that to this day, I wish I was the person I used to be. Even though I got into a lot of trouble, I had a great time doing it. Now I think before I do anything.

Once middle school started, I decided I was going to try very hard in school. I started to hang out with my friends a lot less than what I used to. When I did hang out with my friends, we only went to movies or watched television together. We didn’t even play football or basketball at all, when we used to play it everyday after school. I started to hang out with different types of kids because I moved to smarter level classes, so I saw people I never really talked to before. These kids were fun to talk to, but they never did anything fun at all. Throughout middle school, I didn’t play any sports, and I was starting to get depressed.

cars that pollute the air. We tend to focus on immediate rather than remote contexts, because the future is unpredictable to us. When things go wrong, we want to feel good, so we make ourselves believe that it was not our fault. however, when something goes right, we believe it was our fault that caused it to work, so we feel good about that too. Wanting to make ourselves feel good is called self efficacy.

The community that exists between all of us is a society. All societies have a culture which is a way of life. Everyone follows a plan, and rules, and work for survival. Society produces the human minimum. Whatever we define as a human can only happen through living in a social world. Everyone has a private self that they try very hard not to let anyone see. People also have conflicting emotions which means that you love someone and you hate that same person at the same exact time. In the Transformation of Man article written by Solomon Asch, he basically wrote that the society changes people, and we become human by changing for the better. We would not be human if we did not have a social world. We would not have any experiences at all.

When high school started, I decided I was not going to waste the rest of my life regretting anything, so I signed up for the football team. I was friends with everyone on the team, but it was a couple years since I really hanged out with any of them. Football became one of the best things that ever happene
