The U.S Economics Might Today

American financial sector grew and expanded into an international financial center during 1970s . At the same time, local banks, securities, exchange and insurance companies grew up. After 1990, the world has changed more rapidly than other times since the World War II ended in 1945. A brand new type of economic and social revolution was underway. The factors that are transforming the world environment and the relationship of the United States within it is technological changed, which is moving faster than at any time in history. The advances in computers and telecommunications had shortened distances, eroded national boundaries, and also enlarged the domain of the global economy. In the process of developing into an international financial center, the United States of America had built up a well-established and unique financial management structure which suited the basic needs of the financial sector. U.S.¡¦s banking sector is a regional center in stock and foreign exchange trading, gold and bond markets.

High degree of openness and internationalized financial system

In the United States, traditional economies relied on farming and very simple goods trading. Early colonists used this form of economy within their own communities, and to some extent, with other colonies. A market economy was controlled by the forces of supply and demand. The United States used a market economy for much of its history, and it is largely responsible for the growth of the country today.

The United States has a deficit in its merchandise trade account for the period 1986 ¡V 1999. The deficit reached a high of $231 billion in 1998 and was even higher in 1999. Regardless of whether the U.S. dollar has been weak or strong against other world currencies, the trade deficit persists. This is because during this period the United States imported around $2.5 trillion more of goods than it exported. At the same time that the United States has been running a deficit in its trade account, Japan has been running a surplus in its trade account. Approximately 30 percent of the deficit has been with Japan, which has created trade tensions between the two countries.
