In these cases, the parents have to become dependant on child support, which turns them into a drain of the economy. Raising a child has become extremely expensive in modern society. Not only is gathering money difficult, but in most cases bearing a child prevents teenage mothers from continuing their studies, which is vital to their success in this country. The vicious cycle of poverty is extremely difficult to escape once someone has fallen into it. Only a small percentage of people move out of their poor neighborhoods and refuse to become products of their negative environments.
