Peter Pan

Avast belay, yo ho, heave to, a-pirating we go, and if we"re parted by a shot we"re sure to meet below! Yo ho, yo ho, the pirate life, the flag o" skull and bones, a merry hour, a hempen rope, and hey for Davy Jones! Avast, belay, when I appear, by fear they"re overtook, nought's left upon your bones when you have shaken claws with Hook!.
The Darling's, Mr. Darling, Mrs. Darling, Wendy, John, and Michael, lived a fairly normal life for a large family in London, England. But one night when Mr. and Mrs. Darling are out at the annual office party and the children are sleeping peacefully in the nursery something very strange happens. In flies Peter Pan right through the nursery window. Peter teaches the children to fly with a little pixie dust and a happy thought and all four of them are out the nursery window.
Peter takes them to Neverland the magical place second star to the right, and straight on till morning. In Neverland the children experience all of the most exciting things that could ever happen. They meet the lost boys, Tootles, Nibs, Slightly and Curly. They also meet Tinkerbell, Peter's own personal fairy, and even Tiger Lily and her fellow Redskins. They even go to Mermaid Lagoon and watch the mermaids swimming gracefully in the sparkling blue ocean. But the biggest adventure they have is with Peter's mortal enemy Captain Hook and the other pirates that live on the Jolly Roger (their ship).
This books genre is realistic fiction. I know that because in the book it talks about mermaids and lost boys. It even takes place in a world that's not real, Neverland.
My favorite part of the book is when the lost boys and Peter build a house around Wendy after she was shot with an arrow by accident. I like the way Wendy sings what she wants the house to look like and then the boys build it. The words to the song are:.
             I wish I had a little house,.
             The littlest ever seen,.
             With funny little red walls.
