Should The Government Affect Our Lives?

Democracy is a political system in which the supreme power lies in a body of citizens who can elect people to represent them. After that these elected people form up a group which is called government. Nevertheless, governments put some restrictions on people’s lives according to laws. By this way, people control themselves via people who think similar. In spite of the fact that A. Lincoln said “government of the people, by the people, and for the people”, some people think that government kills individual freedom since government pries into people’s lives in many cases. When all the things are considered, living in a society is a collectivist issue and this society should be controlled by the people who the citizens vote for. Therefore, there should be some laws in order to protect other individuals’ rights whether the law is related with private life or not. As a result, in my opinion it is possible for government to take precautions via laws in order to strengthen the society and also by this way each individual’s right will be saved. If government does not interfere in some crucial points of citizens’ lives, the state will disappear ultimately because of distorted relationships.

People think that their marriages or divorces are private problems and these problems do not concern anyone else. While it seems true as an individualistic approach at first time, it breaks the chains of group mentality. In social groups people should make allowances for damages on physiology of each group member because of any family problems and members should act as a member of that group to keep happiness. Since people who live in the same culture mostly the youth are easily effected from each other, the life style in the state will become a chaos. If there were not any law for marriage, people would start to marry each
