In Hollywood, dramatizing police investigation is a chance to show cops at their best and criminals at their worst. This show does the best and most realistic interrogations, according to experts and most real-life cops. (Burns, 2004.) “NYPD Blue” shows interrogation like it is according to most cops. They have some evidence, a line of questions, and intimidation. They even use the real life “Good Cop and Bad Cop” routine. For instance, the suspect is invited in by the “good cop” just for questions. Everything’s fine and he may even give the suspect coffee or something else to make them comfortable. But then, the “bad cop” comes in. He’s angry, threatening, intimidating, and scary. “Good guy” then comes back in to “save” the person. This routine is so effective that it works even when the suspect knows you are using it.
