Television violence may by an issue, maybe even a small factor in some crimes, but it is not the major cause for the violence in our streets. Some television shows have a lot of violence, but it is the parents job to explain to their kids that television is make believe and should not be acted out. Violence on television should not be an acceptable excuse for crimes that people commit. People blame television because they have no one else to point the finger at. Parents should play a major role in their children’s life, because the society we live in today has almost come to accept violence as normal.

It is the job of the parents to make sure that their kids know what is right and wrong. They should encourage extracurricular activities for their kids, and get more involved in their children’s lives. The television may have violent shows, but parents are responsible for making sure their children are only watching what they are allowed to. It seems as though people now blame violence on everything in today’s society. Public schools, war movies, and even music have all been blamed for violence at some point. It looks like people who commit crimes use these excuses when they have no one else to blame. It seems parents have almost given up on trying to raise their children by letting the television do it for them.
