Transition Period Between Bush And Clinton

The most important challenge of any president-elect is to seize ever advantage or opportunity that presents itself for a smooth transition. During such a window of opportunity, from Election Day to inauguration, the president-elect (Clinton) will build a White House team, select cabinet secretaries, form his agenda, and prepare a budget to present to Congress. Secondly, the president-elect and his White House team must seize the opportunity to communicate between the incoming administration and the outgoing administration. Lastly to complete a smooth transition, the administration must avoid constraining commitments such as false promises that were made during the campaign.

As for the transition between the Bush and Clinton Administrations, it turned out to be one the rockiest transition in recent history. To start the Clinton Administration began by cleaning house, draining the White House of all its experienced personnel and institutional memories. By doing this alone, created several major problems for the newly


In closing, what we’ve learned for the Clinton administration is that to have an effective transition between administrations once must be prepared at all times. You must appoint your White House staff as soon as possible (maybe in November). Plus, you must be able to communicate with the outgoing administration, because they have the most recent and valuable information. If you can keep this items in mind your should be able to have a smooth transition with your own administration.
