Child Importance

Important part of you, knows what characteristics lie within. The foundation of the process of knowing yourself is knowing your childhood. The bad times, the good times, and the unforgettable times. “The state or stage of life of a child” (childhood). Examining ones childhood makes it easier to grasp what type of person they could be, or what type of person that they are. There are many situations that makeup a childhood. Situations that are needed to be stated to possibly help provide a better childhood, or parenting. A childhood which can be formatted from your parent’s childhood. Society changes with it whether there are those who dislike change.

Watching children grow to become successful, responsible adults is most parents dream. Parents paying to put their children into private schools, thinking they know best. Babies being expected to read a young age to accommodate their parent’s ego and self respect. Children are being persuaded to become as successful as their parents, and make a name for themselves. . With new technology and fancy futuristic cars, a new era is evolving before our eyes. The way that we are raising our children seem not to be evolving the way our society has. Society tends to rai

Parents have more responsibilities than putting food on the table and clothing them until they are 18. They also have to be their child’s counselor, and be there for them throughout their lives. “ Adolescents whose parents are authoritative-not rigidly authoritarian but accepting, warm, democratic, and firm- achieve more in school than their peers” ( Psychology 116). Yelling at a child, and putting them down to do well is not the approach parents should take. Adolescents are children in a way. They need encouragement from whose words mean the most to them. Hopefully the words that mean the most to them are their parents. Children beat themselves up enough about situations, so they are counting on their parents to both be strict, but embracing. For the parents whose morals do not consist of such embracing, their child will try to find ways to get that encouragement. Usually, that encouragement can come from their peers. Parents tend to think that their child listens to what their peers says more than what they have to say as a parent. This at times can be true, for the simple fact they need that second opinion about life situations from those that they can relate to as an adolescents. If the parent is not being supportive, the friends will eventually become the parent. The parents have to maintain a positive influence in their child’s life at an early age. To try to become a positive influence on the child during adolescents, can be quite hard since the child has adjusted to not having that positive influence. “Adolescents classified as insecure are more likely to engage in drug abuse” (Horowitz and Rosenstein 243). If the child is a female, they tend to be more emotional with their feelings than males. “Society prepares males for emotional closeness than girls” (Mercurio 257). The female adolescents needs more nurture from their parent(s). If not received, they may tend to want that emotional attachment with a male, who can take advantage of that situation. Possibly force to girl into having premarital sex, feeding her with ideas that she needs him. Whose fault is this? The parents fault for not making their child feel secure enough to come to them with their problems, and being that caring force that they need. So when teenage girls become pregnant, than their boyfriend leave them, society tends to look down on that misunderstood girl. Society make’s it more of the girls fault, with the idea that this female made the baby on her own.

What plays a main part of most children’s life is school. The place where children find out more about themselves, and interacting with others. “This is the age that a child’s conscience is built-or isn’t; it is the time when a child’s character is built and consolidated, or isn’t” (Kalisch 98). In the classroom where a child is able to participate and be open with there thoughts, helps evolve a child. These are the years that parents often find it hard to understand their child. This is the time that a
