I am an action oriented individual! It appears that I have a good head on my shoulders. I am logical when faced with adversity, and I try to remain focused on my values and moral upbringing, which has proven me well in high school. I am a thoughtful person, and I consider all aspects of the obligations of my beliefs; I have great compassion for people in all walks of life and enjoy listening to other people’s points of view. Currently, I am a leader of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, which I enjoy tremendously. I am also a starter on the varsity softball team where I play first base and outfield. In addition, I have been a leader in the Spanish Club in which I organized all the outside events. Other clubs that I participate in are SADD and Key Club. The effect that ADD has had on my life is the feeling of being a step behind my peers. I have always felt the need to prove myself to others. The way that I have proven myself is through my extracurricular activities. Because of my involvement I know that my academics have suffered. It took me a lot of thought to come to this realization. This realization is a critical step to overcoming my ADD. I am not one to back down on commitments and have been learning how to manage my time more effectively. However, this has taught me that in college I am going to have to be careful about the commitments that I make. I need to have the time to focus fully on my studies. Through all of my activities, I have discovered that to be fully effective in helping others I need to have a quality college education. When I graduate from college, I will be the first in my family to do so, and I will have conquered my ADD.
