Perspiration and Perseverance

It was around Christmas time when I decided to execute my brilliant, or so I thought, plan to take my car apart and modify it to improve both its looks and performance. Everything started out as a secret between me and my mother because I knew that my father would not approve of me dismantling my car. Actually, to tell the truth, the car was paid for half by him and half by me and the car was in his name, which means that the car was technically his. This gave him the leeway to get mad at me for doing anything to "his" car. .
The major that I am currently studying is electrical engineering. Engineering is described by many as simply solving problems. The problem that I needed to solve was how to install performance parts on my car. I would have to develop my own solutions concerning the installation of parts and at the same time express my skills as an engineer.
I ordered some performance parts from a few online stores to get my project started. I bought a carbon fiber brake handle and a carbon fiber automatic shifter knob. I also bought some blue neon and LED lights to light up my ride. I was very excited about the maroon 2001 Toyota Corolla CE that I received for my birthday. It is a hard car to find performance parts for because it is not typically thought of as a performance car. I searched website after website looking for the parts I desired. I bought a performance muffler from AutoZone and got it installed at Meineke. Finally my parts arrived and I was ready to begin work on the interior of the vehicle.
The sweat poured down my face day by day as I fiddled with the interior panels and the underlying electronics. I was fascinated by all of the wires and wondered how everything worked together. It seemed very complex and intrigued me to learn more. .
The first part that I decided to install was the automatic shifter knob. In order to do this I needed to remove the original shifter.
