The Winspire Wind Turbine

Everyday, the world produces carbon dioxide that is released to the earths atmosphere and which will still be there in hundred years. This increased content of Carbon Dioxide increases the warmth of our planet and is the main cause of the so called Global Warming Effect. The only response to global warming is to replace the current energy technologies with alternative energy that can eliminate carbon dioxide; give better performance and save natural resources. Besides solar energy, wind energy is a free and limitless power source. Its mostly everywhere on the planet. Because of these advantages; wind power is one of the most promising energy sources that can serve as an alternative to fossil fuel generated electricity. Its known that in the past, win power was captured and controlled through the use of sails for the powering of ships. .
Also, in many countries, wind has also been used to powers mills, which have been used to pump water and grind grains. Over the years, the development of windmill has been grown; with the new technologies, windmills now can be able to generate electricity for homes and industry purposes. The final results commonly called wind turbines.
In fact, wind turbines are broken into two types of technologies. One is called horizontal axis wind turbine and the other one is called vertical axis wind turbine. Horizontal axis wind turbine is the propeller turbines that you often see in the large wind farms that cross the United States. In this paper, I will mainly discuss about vertical axis wind turbines; and this new technology is named Windspire.
Windspire wind turbines are designed and manufactured by a company called Windspire Energy located in Reno, Nevada. The company was founded in 2005; but their first product to market was launched on June 2, 2008.It was the 1.2 kW Windspire wind turbine. This standard unit is 30 feet tall, weigh over 600 lbs and can generate a about 2000 Kwh, which is 1/3 of the power usage in an average home.
