Putting the Brakes on Ebola

Imagine watching a literal train wreck; but its online, and its live. Just before the train crashes, slams into and most likely kills a car full of helpless people, the computer freezes and won't load. The colorful spinning wheel of death comes up and you sit there not knowing whether all those people were crushed, or if the train was able to stop in time. Wondering if at that exact moment you're sitting there staring at your loading computer screen, if there is a car smashed in by a multi-ton pile of metal. Its a horrible thought, right? The unknown. To be honest that's one of my biggest fears is the unknown. Now imagine this. One of the most deadly viruses of all human existence is advancing towards you, its only seven hours, one airport and one taxi ride TV from infecting you. Doesn't it make the train wreck seem not that bad. Especially considering that its possible and its real, and it will happen if certain people don't take certain steps. Travel ban from certain eastern countries, I believe, is one of these very important choices that need to be made in order to keep you and your loved ones uninfected. "Having destroyed it's host, the host agent is now coming out of every orifice, and is 'trying to find a new host.'" (24, Preston) this piece of the chapter "Jumper" shows how incredibly contagious this disease is. I believe the author brings out the importance of keeping the virus contained with his intensity of describing how the virus leaks out of its new destroyed host.
The Ebola virus is this train. America as a whole is this car. The brakes, that are most likely taken for granted, are those people who have certain steps and choices to make. Why would we want to allow someone with this contagious of a virus on a plane with possible suitors as a new host. This infected person would then get to the airport after being helped off the plane, infecting the attendant that helped. Going into the bathroom, touching the door, the stall, the sink, and the toilet.
