Literary Overview - A Midsummer Night's Dream

A Midsummer Night's Dream was originally named "A Midsummer Night's Dream". On October 8th 1600, Thomas Fisher published "A Midsummer Night's Dream" in quarto format thought to have been printed from Shakespeare's own handwritten copy. A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare is the most popular comedy, it portrays the adventures of four young lovers, and their interactions with woodland fairies.
             Setting.
The events of the story first unfold in the "Theseus Palace". Second it unfolds at "Quince's house" Last it unfolds in a "forest" near the Athens. But the entire play takes place in the Athens. Around the time of Ancient Greece. I think this setting is appropriate because it coincides with the time frame and the forest gives them privacy, away from prying eyes.
The forest would be an extremely scenic effect because in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" the forest creates a dark, wild, mysterious atmosphere in which the magical elements of Shakespeare's plot can be played out. The Athens and the enchanted forest influence the characters especially Hermia and Lysander because to them the Athens is a place that prevents them from marrying each other. But the forest does not. Some pressing questions that I would ask the author about the setting is; why didn't the story take place in modern time's verses medieval times? And why did it take place in the enchanted forest instead of the Theseus Palace?.
             Characters.
In "A Midsummer Night's Dream" the characters are depicted as fictional individual because they fall in love, they show jealous, and human characteristics. I am able to decipher the protagonist from the minor characters because the protagonist has the most important role to play, which is Puke, other than the minor characters because they have small roles to play. If I were to eliminate a main character from the book, I would eliminate Lysander, Hermia's love.
