A Review of Love & Death The Murder of Kurt Cobain
Love & Death: The Murder of Kurt Cobain By Max Wallace and Ian Halperin Its Friday April the 8th, 1994. The body of 27 year old Kurt Cobain has just been found in the greenhouse of his Seattle home. It seems as if the SPD is completing a very thorough investigation, complete with “caution” tape surrounding the house. What only the people on the inside knew however, was that it was ruled and immediate “suicide.” Why?: Because he was a junkie and his wife paid someone off. Just days before Kurt had been reported missing after jumping over the wall at a rehab facility in California. This book takes you back chronicling all the events leading up to Kurts death. What most people fail to know about Kurt and Courtney… is that however “happy” they may have seemed together a divorce was imminent. Kurt Cobain had phoned his daughter, Francis Bean’s godmother Rosemary Carroll, who also was a good friend of both his and Courtneys. He told Rosemary he wanted Courtney taken out of his recently re-drafted will. Courtney was also calling Rosemary, wanting to know if there was anyway that the prenup could be voided. She also instructed Rosemary to find h
er the “meanest, most vicious divorce lawyer ever.” It was not by any means a happy marriage. When Kurt went missing Courtney herself was in Las Angeles so it is controversial as to how she knew he was missing up in Seattle. The nanny Michael DeWitt was still at the house in Las Angeles and had seen Kurt and talked to him but still went along with Courtneys missing persons accusation. Phone records prove also that he had been talking to Courtney and she later admitted that Michael had told her he had seen Kurt. Courtney herself hired a PI when Kurt went missing, Tom Grant. Grant began recording any and all phone conversations he had with Courtney from the very first conversation. He still has all of these and has just now released some of their contents. The rest he says, must stay silent and only come out when handed over to the FBI if the case ever goes to trial. I personally having never have heard these tapes already knew that Kurt didn’t commit suicide…the evidence is damming. Why is it that the SPD overlooked so many things? There are many theories about that one, the only thing I will say is that Courtney has admitted to having friends in high places in the SPD. I think that everyone should read this book because its such a tragedy that this innocent father is now dead and some psychotic witch is walking the streets profiting off her husbands death. Th
