Teens Should Not Be Tried As Adults
Do you think juveniles should be tried as adults? Well, personally I do not think they should because they there are another ways of dealing with juveniles rather than just putting them away with other adults. I believe that they could make something of their selves instead of just sitting in a jail cell doing nothing with their lives. I believe that they should get some type of counseling instead of sitting in jail cell. I also believe that instead of them just sitting in a cell doing nothing they could be in a classroom getting an education. So in other words I believe that there are alternatives other than sending them to jail. Three states, including North Carolina consider a juvenile at or below the age of 15. Ten states consider juveniles to be 16 or younger. The other 47 states consider juveniles to be 17 or younger. However, all 50 states in the US consider a person to be an adult at the age of 18. So in North Carolina, if you are 16 and commit a crime you can be an adult in court but not anywhere else? That does not make any sense.
