Sep 11th Tragedy

I will never forget the tragedy of September 11th, and the world consequences of the terrorist attacks. I woke up that morning to the news broadcasting a Twin Tower being hit by a plane. On every channel you could see the shock on people’s faces as they tried to make sense of the situation. It took hours before anyone could really confirm that it was a terrorist attack. I remember vaguely the President coming on television and announcing that it was a terrorist attack against the United States. The whole country was confused by what had just happened, never before had anyone dared to strike back against the United States. The night before the attacks, I had just flown in from California, I was teaching a Pre-Hospital Trauma class. The next morning my phone rang every few minutes, almost all of my relatives called to make sure that I was safe. I think that’s when I started to think about all of the people who lost family members. I will forever be eternally grateful to have made it home safe the night before.

It was amazing how the whole country pulled together to try to make a difference in someone’s life. After the first day, the outpouring of support, financial and emotional was amazing.
