Lord of the Flies vs. Macbeth

Many modern novels are influenced by older novels. Lord of the Flies and Macbeth are similar in many ways. It may be coincidence or Golding may have used Shakespeare's Macbeth as inspiration. In the two novels their similarities are made different in small ways.
In Lord of the Flies evil draws people towards it. All the children start out to be innocent. Then a few turn to barbarism and later one by one everyone turns to barbarism except Ralphe and Piggy. In Macbeth Evil repels people from it. Macbeth becomes evil and kills the king; he continues to be barbaric and kills everyone that is in his way of his "success". .
In Lord of the Flies when the children realized Jack was evil it really didn't make a difference. They thought that he was a good leader and that he would keep them alive and happy so they stayed with him anyways. In Macbeth once the people realized Macbeth was evil he lost the people that supported him. The people did not want to follow him anymore. They did not want a King that would kill his own people.
In Lord of the Flies good is chased. After almost everyone turned to barbarism and were all followers of Jack. Jack wanted to kill the boys that were against him. Jack killed Piggy. Jack and his "tribe" chased Ralph to try to kill him. In Macbeth bad is chased. Once the people realized Macbeth was evil they no longer wanted him to be king. They went to his home to kill him.
In Lord of the Flies good escapes. Jack and his followers chased Ralphe to the beach. Luckily Rescuers were on the beach looking for the children so Ralphe was not killed. In Macbeth evil is killed. Macduff and some of Macbeth's ex-followers go to find Macbeth. Macbeth and Macduff battle and Macbeth is killed.
There are many similarities and many differences in these two novels. You may notice many modern novels or even movies remind you of classic novels. I believe even millions years from now novels will still be influenced by classic Shakespeare novels such as Macbeth or Romeo and Juliet.
