            There is a German proverb - One has only to die to be praised.
             Whether Alfred Nobel had not heard it or not but he set an example to prove to this world that people could be praised during their lifetimes.
             Alfred Nobel documented his famous will embellished with a novel and unprecedented thought. What he desired was to venerate outclass individuals who contributed to the comfort of mankind. .
             He wanted to confer the awards in five distinct fields namely - physics, chemistry, peace, literature and medicine (physiology). For the last 98 years, the Nobel foundation has been conferring the Nobel prizes to those whose virtues have beautified mankind. Not only this, the Nobel foundation added another category namely Economic Sciences in the year 1969, based on a donation received from the Bank of Sweden.
             The Swedes have proven that they are an exceptional nation, as the Nobel prize ceremony has very much become part of their culture - yes it is a regular cultural event held annually. We all know that it is not meant for Swedes alone - it is a truly universal event which is cherished by the world as the most prestigious symbol. Alfred Nobel had emphasized that the meritorious awards should be given on merit alone without giving any weightage to nationality. He wished the accolade the prize to the most worthy aspirant "whether he be Scandinavian or not". Infact , it is this spirit which culminated in making the most of the qualities of people to make this world a better place. The Swedes really celebrate the Nobel Award ceremony and that too in the severe cold winter in December every year. It is really worth to participate in the event which is excellently planned and organized with an unmatched display of conscience and gesture. It is the attitude - yes, the attitude, which counts and the Swedes can be termed as perfect role models in demonstrating this behavior. There is a message of appreciation and recognition - the message of admiration and adornment - during the lifetime of the Nobel laureates.
