Photosynthesis

Photosynthesis is a process in which green plants utilize the energy from the sun to manufacture carbohydrates from carbon dioxide and water in the presence of chlorophyll. In some plants such as algae and other certain bacterias, the photosynthesis process results in the release of oxygen and the removal of carbon dioxide. Some types of bacteria use light energy to create organic compounds. Photosynthesis provides the energy and reduced carbon required for the survival of oxygen consuming organisms. Photosynthesis occurs in cells or organelles that are typically only a few microns across. Photosynthesis has a profound impact on the earths atmosphere and climate. The physical and chemical reactions of photosynthesis must occur in a coordinate pattern. For photosynthesis to produce a simple sugar such as sucrose, it must require nearly 30 distinct proteins. The equation for photosynthesis is simple written as :.
             6CO2 + 12H2O + Light Energy _____> C6H12O6 + 6O2 + 6H2O. (2).
Many of the proteins that are required for light energy and electron transfer reactions of photosynthesis are located in membranes. The photosynthetic process in plants and algae occurs in small organelles known as chloroplasts that are located inside the cell. Electron transport consists of a series of individual electron transfer steps from one electron carrier to another. I guess sunlight plays a much larger role in our lives than just to keep us warm and give off light. If it we didn't have photosynthesis could we live?.
