Hard working, dedicated, and charismatic are three adjectives that one might use to describe an influential leader in today’s society. These words have more than just a definition. Each of them sets a standard not only for me, but also for many people around the world. Each word, adopted and practiced, is what has enabled me to become a leader today, and will guide me to become an even better leader tomorrow. Each of these attributes has been nurtured in me through a business program at my high school known as DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America). DECA is a marketing related organization that teaches different aspects of running and maintaining a business. It also puts students in decision-making role-playing positions, and allows them to fix problematic situations in the business world. Since my involvement in DECA, I have been inspired to work hard and to learn the necessary components to become an ideal leader.
The two words, hard working, always find themselves attached to leaders. Each leader gains their status by giving 100 percent of their effort into their work. This aspect of leadership has been instilled in me during my time as a DECA chapter treasurer. Financial records are very important in any bus
With each great leader come a great personality and a positive aura. A charismatic personality and inspiring ideas draws people in. In my experience within the DECA community, the ability to present myself as an outgoing person has attracted people to me in a business sense and has allowed me to filter my ideas to others. Getting people to listen to your ideas is a critical part in affecting the people you influence. Each year at a DECA leadership conference, I am asked to teach a new group of students the concepts of DECA. Each year I can say that with my positive attitude, more people approach me to ask questions. Each of these people then becomes eager to have a conversation and I can then talk about DECA and my personal business ideas. The easygoing friendly attitude marketed with hard work and dedication is an icebreaker in the leadership role.
The qualities of a leader can vary through each person’s viewpoint. Hard work, dedication, and a charismatic personality are what merely set the table for leadership skills. Each of these attributes that I possess are beneficial to my goals in life. Everyday I learn something new and positively use it for becoming a better person. I know that I am
