Helen Adams Keller was born June 27th, 1880 West Tuscumbia, Alabama, which is now a museum and sponsors a annual Helen Keller day. She was an American author, political activist and lecturer. Helen was not only the first women but the first person who was deaf and blind to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree. Even though Helen was deaf and blind she did not let that stop her from being the great women that she was.
