... Through the close study of these two films I found similar narrative lines such as transport, employment and female relationship. It was through the critical analysis of these elements that I find the argument of my essay; That the female characters in these films did not have equal access to public space ... and her family have had to suffer, suffering which in the film Weber makes clear the mother takes the responsibility for not her weak and idle minded husband. The main action in the film is orientated around Mrs Grigg's everyday routine, cleaning, cooking and shopping for the home....
