Why We Crave Horror Movies Stephen King says, "If we share a brother hood of man, then we also share an insanity of man". He believes that we watch horror films for three reasons. We watch to show we are not afraid, to re-establish our feelings of normality, and to just have fun. King says the fun part of watching a horror film is seeing people get tortured or even killed.
