ACCEPTING RESPONSIBILITY In the tragedies of Sophocles, human responsibility plays an important role to the significance of the characters. Oedipus accepts responsibility as a tragic hero, as does Antigone. It seems however, that Antigone shows a greater willingness to accept her responsibility.
