American Inventors

 

            Do you know that there are hundreds of thousands of African-American Inventors? Today I will be writing about three African-American Inventors who invented such things as the Automatic Lubricator for Steam-Engines (Real McCoy), Synchronous Multiplex Railway Telegraph, Gas Mask, and Traffic signal: Elijah McCoy, Granville T. Woods, and Garrett A. Morgan. .
             Garrett A. Morgan; the inventor, is most famous for inventing the Gas Mask and Traffic Signal. He was born in Paris, Kentucky in 1877. He received over fifty patents for his inventions. The Gas Mask was mass produce for World War one, it save thousand of American lives. That thing that everyone dislikes, Traffic Signals saves billions of lives every year. .
             Elijah McCoy; the inventor, is most famous for Inventing Automatic Lubricator for Steam Engines in 1872, which was nick name (Real McCoy). He was born in Ontario, Canada in 1843 and raised in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Over the course of his lifetime he received fifty-seven different patents for his inventions. .
             Granville T. Woods; the inventor, is most famous for inventing the Synchronous Multiplex Railway Telegraph. He was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1856. Because Woods was born in Ohio, he was born a free man. He received more than sixty patents for his inventions. He was unsuccessfully sued by Thomas Edison two times.
             I have written about three of our lesser know African-American inventors. Over their lives these amazing men patented over 150 inventions combined. Most of all, they did not allow the every day encounter of racism and bigotry to stop them form getting an education and fulfilling their dreams. Today they are known as great American inventers.
