I dreaded ever hour I had to sit there while I listened to the other students shouting out answers, of which I had no clue what they were. Class was immensely dreary. There was never anything exciting going on in the classroom. When we where there, the other students and I worked straight from of our books, fixing sentences, over and over until I was blue in the face, then we would do some more. English teachers also weren't appealing to me. They were always the crabby ignorant ones, it seemed like they acted as if they were better than us, or even the other teachers. I was a slow reader; therefore, five to six page of English to read really intimidated me. We read boring stories, which I didn't care about. They never seemed to be very motivating, and dragged on and on, losing my interest within the first few paragraphs. I did however enjoy science. At night English homework never got priority over a fascinating documentary on the television.
Later in my life I accomplished my greatest achievement. After dropping out of the tenth grade, I was into drugs and was no stranger to the court system. I lost my house, my car, and my family. After eight years, I went back to school and earned my General Education Diploma. Quitting that lifestyle and going back to school was a huge accomplishment. I then decided to finish my dream and go on to college. One of my first major classes I had to pass was English. I pondered for days and weeks if I was going to be able to get through English class. I eventually decide I would give it my best shot. If I was going to go down, it would be in flames.
My first day on campus was intimidating. The class was broadcast on cameras to another city. As I enter the classroom I noticed the chairs where plush and reclining, the tables, as well as the rest of the furniture looked very expensive. I thought to myself, "I"m in the big time now. The teacher then entered and introduced himself; he then started explaining the criteria for the semester.
