In today's society, there are many reasons to get a college education. It is a known fact that the majority of successful people in America are the people with a college degree. I could find a job that might be less stressful and on me. My vision of being wealthy when I'm older is a lot brighter with the help of a furthered education.
When I was a young boy, my parents instilled in me the importance of a college education. My first cousin never attended college and is now a custodian making $25,000 a year. He now has a wife and three kids and every time he complains about money, my parents look at me and ask me if that's the kind of life I want. They are always on my case when it comes to grades and are trying to push me, so that I understand the importance of a college degree. Part of the reason I want my degree is to make them proud of me.
I am determined to get a college education. I don't want to be an average guy with an average life, working as a custodian making twenty five thousand a year with three kids. I can't provide for my family because I chose not to receive a college education for only four years out of my life. I am better than that. I want to provide for my future family. I want to prove to myself that I can do anything I put my mind to. I don't want to let myself down and settle for something less than my potential. .
My friends play an important roll in my college life because they want to see me succeed. They push me to work hard and give my best effort. They sometimes threaten not to hang out with me until all my assignments are completed.
