The World of Macbeth is not completely evil. Discuss.

"hath borne his faculties so meek, hath been.
So clear in his great office that his virtues.
             Will plead like angels.".
From what even the main perpetrator of evil deeds says of him, it is obvious to us that Duncan is a good and virtuous man, and with people like him present, the world of Macbeth is not completely evil. .
Characters like Banquo and Macduff also show that the world of Macbeth is not completely evil. Banquo is ambitious, but he is also a perfectly honest and self-disciplined character in contrast to Macbeth. He was scarcely startled by the witches' prophecies and in the play he refuses to give in to the temptation of the witches. He even took the entire saga as a joke and advised Macbeth that, .
"oftentimes to win us to our harm,.
The instruments of darkness tell us truths." .
The fact that he did not want to compromise his own honour to gain more honour shows a strong character who is good at heart. The audience know this because he says to Macbeth, who is testing Banquo's allegiance in his support of Macbeth,.
             "So I lose none .
In seeking to augment it, but still keep.
my bosom franchised and allegiance clear,.
             I shall be counselled.".
Macduff too is a good character in the world of Macbeth, which is mainly overpowered by darkness and evil. He is one of the few thanes of Scotland who offer any kind of resistance to Macbeth's reign of tyranny and he is convinced that it would be in Scotland's best interests to bring the rightful heir, Malcolm, back to Scotland. He persuades Malcolm by saying,.
             "Each new morn.
New widows howl, new orphans cry, new sorrows.
             Strike heaven on the face.".
Macduff's support of Malcolm, who he believes would be a good king and his loyalty to his country shows that he is a good character, and therefore the world of Macbeth cannot be totally evil. Macduff is also an extremely brave person. From the moment Macbeth is to be crowned, Macduff thinks that something is wrong, and therefore he does not attend the crowning of Macbeth at Scone.
