Cordless Phones

 

            The product and its design features I will be analyzing is the 900MHz Cordless phone with the Digital Messaging System. I will be comparing it with a normal, average, telephone that is used in most homes. First of all, he cordless phone is a system or process for transmitting sound or speech over distances by converting it into electrical impulses that are sent through a wire. The cordless phone is a technological advancement today, which means that it has some advantages and features that the other average telephones do not have. The function it was designed to accomplish is that it lets people have conversations from a variety of locations. Cordless phones are popular and have several advantages. The name pretty much speaks for itself because you can carry it around the house. Most also have the dial buttons on the receiver so you can dial it on there. You do not necessarily have to put the receiver back to hang up. You can do that by pressing one of the buttons on the receiver. It also has a Digital Messaging System, which allows people to leave a message if you are ever absent during a phone call. There is quite a lot of people who have this quality, but not as many with the cordless phone there too. One bad feature of the cordless phone really surprised me. I had never heard or experienced the problem, but it seems to be true according to a university student. The bad feature surprisingly seems to be privacy. It appears that some of the time your conversation on cordless may be heard briefly and accidentally. Signals from cordless phones can be picked up by a number of other devices including radio scanners, baby monitors, radios, and other cordless phones. The signal carrying your conversation can usually be transmitted and over heard up to one-fourth mile away, and it is sometimes possible for conversations to travel up to two miles away. Because the signal carrying your conversation travels so far, it is easy to randomly intercept cellular phone conversations using advanced radio scanners.
