Ecology in Mangrove

Similar to the plant analysis, we find out "what " they are and "How many times" they occurs in a fixed quadrant. Of course, we will collect some quantitative samples back to the laboratory and have a more detail observation. .
Objective1.)Identify plant species of the maritime and mangrove community2.)Collection of quantitative vegetative data (e.g., density, frequency, dominance and importance)3.)Determination of zonation of mangrove plants 4.)Identification of marine invertebrate fauna of mangrove community and their zonations5.)Collection of quantitative faunal data in the mangrove community (e.g., density, and distribution in terms of horizontal and vertical pattern)6.)Analyse the species diversity of plant and animal in the community7.)Adaptations of plants and animals in the mangrove to tackle adverse condition over there.Physical Environment.
In the slope profile, we can see the slope is steep from 0m to 30m along the transect line, while the slope becomes gentle from 30m to 50m.
The physical environment provides us the background information of our field trip As we know the elevation of the ground is one of the important factor that decide the place where the animals living or the plants locate. Take this time the mangrove as an example, when we compare the animal distribution along the transect line, it is easily to find that most animal locate at the gentle part of the transect line (the middle one in the slope profile), but for the steep one: the two extreme ending of the transect line, we only find few of them. .
In fact, the situation is also similar to the plants; we found that the plants are less dense in steep land than in the gentle land. Plants prefer to grow more closely at the landward side. This is because as toward the seaward side, it is quite steep and the soil erosion is easily to be occurred. It is high risk for plant to grow there except they have some special adaptation to overcome these problems.
