In other words, there is no intelligent designer or Creator. The origin of human beings is a random, unplanned event that serves no special purpose other than to fill a spot in the ecological scheme of things. Thus, the human species is no more valuable than any other species on the earth. The human race fulfills their evolutionary purpose by producing as many copies of their genes as possible that survive to reproduce. As a result, the only thing that really matters is passing on ones genes. The ultimate goal of every species in the evolutionary theory is to reproduce successfully through continued evolution and adaptation to their environment. Humans are a collection of chemicals fashioned and controlled by genes nothing more. .
As stated before, evolutionary theory states that the purpose of evolution is to preserve the species. This is done through the perfection of the genome by processes of mutation and natural selection. In the past, natural selection made sure that only the strongest humans survived to repopulate. Now, the human race has better knowledge of medicines and agriculture which also play a big role in who survives and flourishes. .
b. THE EVOLUTIONIST MINDSET - MORALITY AND VALUE OF LIFE.
The idea that humans are only the sum of their DNA leads to the idea that people of inferior genetics should be eliminated. The term for this philosophy is eugenics. For example, Francis Galton states, "I do not see why any insolence of caste should prevent the gifted class, when they had the power, from treating their compatriots with all kindness, so long as they maintained celibacy. But if these continued to procreate children inferior in moral, intellectual and physical qualities, it is easy to believe the time may come when such persons would be considered as enemies to the State, and to have forfeited all claims to kindness." .
This mindset supports wholly the current, or at the very least, evolving evolutionists mindset.
