Choosing Fresh or Modified Foods

Living in a society where the government controls just about everything, I would like to think I would have the ability to control what goes into my body. As society enters a more modern age, where humans are starting to become more aware of what they are consuming. Humans are doing so by being more cautious with labels and nutrition facts while grocery shopping. On Kauai one of the biggest controversies' going on right now is whether or not to ban Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO). GMO's should not be banned on Kauai; instead Kauai should pass a bill that states all GMO foods have to be labeled.
A genetically modified organism is an organism that has been through factory machines and genetic engineering.
On Kauai the bill 2491 has been in debate over the last few months whether or not they should ban the use of pesticides. The bill will force agricultural companies to disclose when and where they spray pesticides, restrict spraying to a certain distance away from public areas, and disclose what genetically engineered crops they grow on Kauai. When conducting a survey on Kauai about what and how the people in Kauai's society felt about what was going on pertaining to GMO's. In interviews with numerous people on Kauai from the ages of 18-60 about the issue, the one response that stuck was "GMO's don't just affect the community next to the crops that are being sprayed with GMO's because since it is being sprayed wind picks up the pesticides and is spread throughout the island." That was from a lady in her mid forty's. When interviewing members of society, the older generations always had more to say about the topic. The younger generation of Kauai's society, from the age 18-35 did not have much to say or care very much about GMO's being as they were not affected by the GMO's. At Kauai community college a freshmen spoke about GMO's said, "we've grown up on GMO's and look at us were healthy.
