Leadership of Barack Obama and Mitt Romney

 

            Leadership is a quality that can be acquired by the self-determination of any individual. To be a leader, one must have mental strength, alertness, an optimistic perspective and cooperation skills; while at the same time, being a servicer to his or her followers. They must have good citizenship, show integrity, they must be respected (while showing respect to others), they must be fair, confident, caring, and make mindful decisions that would affect more people than just themselves. These are some aspects it takes to be a good leader, while at the same time, bringing about your own style of leadership. Every leader has their own style when it comes to taking charge, including President Barack Obama and republican candidate Mitt Romney. These two are considered major political leaders in the United States and many other places around the world as well. Their styles are similar in many ways and very different in others, and yet both are still remain important leaders in today's time. .
             Since childhood, Mitt Romney grew up with much exposure to leadership. His father worked in politics for most of Romneys' life and was the governor of Michigan. Romney received his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University and then went on to attend the Harvard Law and Business School, receiving a law degree and an M.B.A. He then worked for a management-consulting firm known as Bain & Company and later ran for Senate in Massachusetts but was defeated. He also became part of the Olympics games in 2002, but his perseverance did not stop there when Romney became governor of Massachusetts in 2003. After serving one term, he did not run for reelection, but instead decided to run as the Republican nominee for president in 2008. Unfortunately for him, he lost to John McCain. Now, he is back again for his second try at running for president in the year 2012. .
             Barack Obama lived in Hawaii as a child and did not get the same type of leadership exposure as Romney at such a young age.
