Aborigine and American Points of View

Marlo leaves her busy life and walks with the Aborigine people to understand how they live.
In the book Mutant Message Down Under Marlo walks across the Australian outback with the Aborigine people and see's how they view the world outside their tribe. American and Aborigine views on things like health, food, medicine, and beauty, are fundamentally different. I will compare the American views and the Aborigine views. .
The health of the human body depends on how well it is taken care of. The Aboriginal people believe that the health of an individual is linked to a person's relationship with the earth; they believe that good health is a blessing from Divine Oneness, and that one's body and health should be treated with respect. The American people believe that health is something that will always be there, and they don't treat themselves right, the American people do not treat their bodies with respect. Health is not something to take for granted it should be cherished.
Food is necessary for life, without food all life would die. The Aborigine people believe that food is a gift. "The primary purpose of the animal is not to feed humans, but it agrees to that when necessary" page 51. They treat the animals they kill with respect, asking for forgiveness before they kill them. They only kill what they need to sustain life; they never take more than they need. The American people treat food like it will be there forever, they raise animals just for the purpose of slaughtering them, and in most cases the animals are mistreated. Americans consume more food than they need. Food is something that should be treasured because at some point we will have exhausted our supply of animals, and will run out of food.
Medicine can cure many diseases, but those medicines cause issues that need more medicine to treat. The Aborigine people use native plants to make natural medicine's and salve's to treat wounds or diseases that are encountered in the outback, but if you look at it, most aborigine people don't get sick because their bodies have become used to the bacteria and germs in their environment.
