After analyzing some moments in the novel, it was concluded that the Spanish Fiesta really attracted characters with the aim to find themselves in the atmosphere, similar to the war, in order to experience certain emotions, because in their daily lives' the characters have lost a true perception of the reality. They feel neither euphoria nor the joy of the everyday life, they still live in their memories of the military life, and this inability to adapt to the society and to the usual life's perception, createS in them the desire to get again the emotions they have experienced during the War, where everything is on the verge of death and the risk, where everything is clear and comprehensive. Otherwise they are not able to live and do not want to, anyway. Consequently, the characters of the novel feel the necessity to plunge into an extreme situation again, akin to their military experience where they can feel again the atmosphere of the War, in order to awake from their "anesthesia" and Fiesta gives them this opportunity. Fiesta for the characters is the prototype of War. By such a way, it's not a coincidence that Hemingway, describing the last days before Fiesta and Fiesta itself, the first days after it, uses a very specific style: it's certainly the description of the War in its action, swiftness and intensivety. In the beginning of the fifteenth chapter in the description of a cafe, the analogy of the War's battles can easily be recognized: "The marble-topped tables and the white wicker chairs were gone. They were replaced by cast-iron tables and severe folding chairs. The cafe' was like a battleship stripped for action» (Hemingway, 1954: 153) .
The author does not forget to mention that on the next day after the end of the Fiesta people in the cafe again sat in "wicker chairs at marble tables" (Hemingway, 1954: 227) He emphasizes upon it in order to show the similarity of how unimportant the previous events were, might be a café before and after the holiday or might be a world which has survived the terrible episodes of the War, careless and forgetful.
