The Mental Aspect of Basbeall

Many people do not see baseball as a mental sport, but baseball is considered to be ninety percent mental and ten percent physical. In order to be successful, one must train his mental approach before, during and after the game. This much training of the mind is broken down into three main points of the research: the automatic brain, self-confidence and mental toughness. The sources of this research were extremely relevant to baseball psychology as I incorporated two baseball psychiatrists, and three different professional annalists of the game who share their opinions and personal experiences about the game. Methods of obtaining the research were mainly done by involving myself into the game by experiencing the game on my own, understanding what many ball players go through at first hand. This procedure helped me relate to other baseball critics about the psychological side of the game and allowed me to quickly write about my results and reiterate to the reader what others mean by specific phrases and actions in the game of baseball. What one will understand from the results of the research is how difficult it is for one to truly be successful at the game and what players go through on a regular basis while playing the game. The results should aide in persuading the reader to understand another viewpoint, a viewpoint not as popular, about the effects of mental training in baseball. .
             Mental Training in Baseball.
For many people, baseball is a sport thats pace seems slow and collected compared to many other sports. Unlike many sports though, baseball is a sport dominated by the unconscious thought that involves: speed, reaction, repetition, and muscle memory. These factors are used by every player, every pitch, for every second they step foot on the field. For decades now, the organization of baseball has done a substantial amount of research in order to understand the mental training in the game and how to help players receive more help in this aspect of baseball in hopes of greater success.
