Negative Support of Children with Special Needs

"It is considered that around 150 million children in the world live with a disability; 80% of them live in developing countries. Most often, these children do not receive necessary treatment and most of them are discriminated against" (Disabled Children). Many kids with special needs are being treated different because of how they look or how they are in general. The human society are treating special kids in the most un proper way when it comes to help. It is not right for the United States to do this to kids with disabilities and it is also unfair for them because they were born different. They did not choose to be disabled and the parents did not choose that either, but it does make things harder for them. People have to see and stand up to help these kids that are in need because they do not know better and they need help, especially their parent or guardian. Society needs to improve the treatment of children with special needs to prevent bullying, improve education, and provide services to help these disadvantaged individuals.
The first thing society needs to improve on is bullying, which is happening all over the country at a very high percentage according to the article, and kids with disabilities are being bullied more than normal kids. "Children with disabilities-such as physical, developmental, intellectual, emotional, and sensory disabilities-are at an increased risk of being bullied" (Bullying and Youth). This is happening because people with disabilities often have a lower social standing among the other students in the classroom, which may lead to them frequently becoming the targets of bullying. They also cannot stand up for themselves because they are not like others, they have problems that affect how they act or how they protect themselves. These children are being bullied mentally, physically, and are even bullying other people because they do not know what is right or wrong.
