Film Summary - The 13th Warrior

 

            Ahmed Ibn Fahdlan, after having fallen in love with the wrong woman, is sent to the land of Tossuk Vlad as ambassador by the Caliph of Baghdad. A country far north. He has been banished from his home and from all that he has. He journeyed on camelback many months into the land of barbarian people. Accompanied by Melchisidek, an old friend of Ahmed Ibn Fahdlan's father. They stop at a Viking village port to restock supplies. Ahmed Ibn Fahdlan finds himself unwittingly embroiled on a quest to banish a mysterious threat to a distant Viking land with twelve Vikings because the 13th man must not be a Northman. King Hrothgar's village in the north that is menaced by an ancient evil, a terror, a terror that has no name, a terror that must not be named. The 13 men have arrived to the village to help the king and during the night they are attacked by the wendols. The day after they build a fence around the village and at night the Wendols attack again by cavalry and torches, they burn the village during the attack. .
             Afterwards they find a couple of dead bodies near the fence and see the wendols are not bears but human beings. They are clothed with bearskin in order to look like bears and to scare the Vikings. They seek an old woman for her wisdom, they show her a little sculpture dropped by one of the Wendols. The old woman says to the twelve Vikings and the one Arab that they have to kill the mother of the Wen and their leader. They follow the track of the wendols and come to a cave where they live. They sneaking into the cave and Buliwyf kills the Wen's mother and they run away from the Wendols and come back to their village, but one of the Vikings Helfdane dies in the cave. The wendols attack the village again at night to take revenge of the Wen's mother and during the attack Buliwyf kills their leader. Now the Wendols run away and Buliwyf dies in the battle. After the terror of the Wendols and Buliwyf 's funeral is over Ahmed Ibn Fahdlan returns home.
