Comparison of Childrens Poets

Seuss remain at the top of my all time favourite authors for narly my entire life. Although all childrens poets, each has his own way of getting their message across to the children and all have most definatly become extremly successful as writers. Each possesses an incredable ability to connect to their young readers and their incredably stories appeal to everyone. .
Shel Silverstein is one of the best childrens poets, and possibly one of the most famous in recent history. His poetry combines easy to read poetry styles with cute and creative stories that appeal strongly to young readers. He likes to taket hings that children can relate to in their own minds and lives and create charactors and stories to bring them to life. He uses things that every kid faces in their daily life like homework and uses a cute story about a homework machine to create a humerous and creative poem. He also uses many clever hrymes in his poetry which makes it easy to read and flows nicely for the young readers. Shel Silversteins books of poetry are also so appealing to children beacuse he uses cute illustrations to bring his poetry to life. The pictures that go with each poemt hat he writes put a clear idea of what he is talking about into the head of the reader making the poetry more fun and easier to follow. A good example of this is the poem 'Alison Beals and her twenty-five eels'. The illustration along the side of that poem shows how she uses each of the pet eels mentioned in the poem and puts a clear picture of what Silverstein is talking about into your head. When I was in elementry school I owned every single Shel Silverstein book and I read them all the time. i am not normally a fan of poetry, I find it rather difficult to follow especially when I was younger, but Silversteins poems were always enjoyable for me to read. He is probably as successful as he is today because the reading is appealing to peole of all ages, although written for children to enjoy.
