Suicide and Euthanasia

The Canadian Criminal Justice System (CCJS) was set in place to preserve order within the country. This system, founded by the Federal Government of Canada, ensures a minimum of peace and order is kept by establishing a set of rules also known as laws, rights and freedoms. The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the federal and provincial legislatures were implemented to assure the protection and freedom of the Canada's citizens. We can imagine that there are several point of views and opinions on certain values and ideologies within a society, which means that what ever will be implemented on this said society, there will always be some people for and some against. The never-ending debate for the legalization of assisted suicide is quite interesting in the sense that its morality is questionable according to certain groups of individuals of the population. Canada has, in my opinion, a relatively good justice system but it isn't perfect. When we look at certain cases we can see that the offenders are able to trick the system in their favor to receive the smallest sentence possible. .
Whether the practice of assisted suicide should be legalized or not is an issue that is well known by the Canadian citizens. I believe this practice should be legalized for various reasons. If a person is extremely ill and feels atrocious pain without being able to medically relieve it, this person should be allowed to receive euthanasia if its what they wanted. Bertrand Nadeau, a 39-year-old man is diagnosed with l'Ataxie, a degenerative illness that attacks the neuromuscular system. Life expectancy for people diagnosed with this illness reaches a maximum of 54 years old. For maximum 15 years according to medical research, Bertrand will not only see the deterioration of his body from the feet-up but will also be having atrocious pain. Bertrand wants euthanasia, but he can't because "little Joe farmer" that lives at the other end of the country does not believe in such practice.
